When you find yourself overwhelmed by numerous demands, tapping into your inner resources can bring strength and clarity. In these moments, it’s important to remember that we are never given more than we can handle. When life’s challenges make us question this, the best coping mechanism is to retreat to our calm center and anchor ourselves there. This is why we practice regularly, so our mind, body, and spirit know how to find the peace within. Even amidst chaos, a deep breath can guide us inward to find the calm at the center of the storm.
By tapping into our inner resources, we can refocus on the present moment. Asking “why” diverts our energy away from what needs to be done. We can seek answers to those questions once we’ve navigated the current challenge. For now, we accept the situation as it is. Once we’ve collected our scattered energy and created space, inspiration will come, help will arrive, and what seemed impossible will either become possible or reveal itself as unnecessary. The universe flows more freely in our lives when we clear our minds and focus on the present.
After the storm has passed, we have the chance to learn from the experience and better understand our true capabilities. We can then ask ourselves the “why” questions with the goal of refining our lives. Perhaps we have taken on too much or made commitments out of obligation rather than genuine desire. It could be the natural ebb and flow of life, or we might be receiving life lessons in preparation for something wonderful. When it’s time to make new choices, we know the best ones come from working from our center
